Alessandro and Sue

It was great to see my son, Sandy and Sue. He was here from
Long Island for a week. Sandy works for HBO in NYC and
is a dedicated artist and musician.  I invite you to visit his website.

Family Reunion

How did I get to be my mother's age?
I'm now in the 70's and 80's crowd!
Age is only a surface image. When I'm
with my cousins all I see is their spirit.
None of our personalities have changed
since childhood. There is something
comforting about that.

We have an ancestry album in the works...
thanks to Mary Lou.

Jake

Our Lab, Jake, is keeping us active!  He is now a year old and
gratefully past basic training, teething, 24/7 attention and wild
zoomies.  We survived the first year!  But, it's great that he has
calmed down a bit.  It took him awhile to make that first splash
into our pool ( even though he will eagerly dash into any natural
water source...lake, ocean, pond, river) but now he loves the pool.
His favorite toy to retrieve is "chicken."

Grandkids Visit July 2013

Following this post are the highlights of their visit in June 2014.  It is always a fun packed week. Some changes when comparing the two years.  Anna has matured a lot.  She will start Middle School this year.  Ty turned four and can now swim.  He had to be careful last year because of the tubes inserted because of constant ear infections.  Taylor is still caught in the middle!

The highlights of 2013 were tubing at our cabin, visiting Strong's Museum of Play, creating art work, swimming, and learning how to "candle" fresh eggs at our friend's Rhonda and Eric's "farm."

Grandkids Visit June 2014

We were on the go, go, go for a full week!  The weather was great, so the kids did a lot of swimming in our pool.  Ty amazed us with his swimming skills, especially his butterfly stroke.  We went to the museum (RMSC), the zoo, went boating at our cabin, saw fireworks, celebrated Anna's and Taylor's b'days coming in July and August, and our dog Jake's July 4th b'day. Emily and I went to the movies to see "Tammy" which was a hoot.  Erik and Emily visited friends and Gary got a lot of time fishing with Erik.

Great Week 6/20/14 -6/30/14) with friends, Doug and Sharon

Finally Time to Enjoy Our Cabin After the Big Clean-up

It was no easy task saving our boat and dealing with the enormous heap of pilings, wood and roofing materials piled on the beach from the demolition of our pier and boat lift.  All of it was destroyed by ice.
Thank you Ron Mason for helping Gary chainsaw the last of the pilings.
Second pile to be removed

Here is a photo of Gary taking a moment to recover.
Whew!

Previous to our friend's visit, our lab Jake was neutered.  We waited till he
was almost a year old to ensure good bone development.  Jake looked
pathetic with his head collar, but he adapted quite well to the humiliation
of bumping into walls and miscalculating doorways.

With the clean-up completed, it was time to celebrate!! We thoroughly enjoyed
Doug and Sharon's visit.
Doug is an amazing cook!

Our kind of breakfast!

Good to the last drop.

Jake loves Sharon!

Thank you, sharon, for helping with weeding.
